All ages summer reading: May 26 - July 18, 2026

The dinosaurs are coming! "Unearth a Story" with us during the summer reading program from Tuesday, May 26 through Saturday, July 18, 2026. We have something for everyone at Dorcas Carey Public Library!

For adults, everything you read is a chance to win! Every book, audiobook, and magazine you check out earns you an entry in the weekly prize drawing. All entry tickets are automatically included in the grand prizing drawing at the end of the reading program!

Teens and tweens in grades 6 through 12 can register at the adult circulation desk. They will track their reading time to earn level prizes and tickets for the weekly prize drawings. When they reach level 3, they will be eligible to win the grand prize! All teens who sign up for the summer reading program are welcome to attend the pizza party on Wednesday, July 22, 2026!

Children can register at the children's circulation desk. All children can check out ten items to earn a ticket for the weekly prize drawing. Toddlers must read ten books to complete the program. Children in preschool through fifth grade will track time spent reading in ten minute segments to earn points for level prizes. Children must complete three levels to be eligible for the grand prize drawing. All children registered for the summer reading program are welcome to attend the Swim and Pizza Party on Monday, July 20, 2026 to celebrate the end of summer reading. Remember, permission slips must be signed by a parent and returned to the library by Saturday, July 18 in order to attend!
